Five ways to ask your bridesmaids

So now that you’ve said “YES” when it comes to what really matters, it’s the people by your side, your close friends and family who you now get the opportunity to honour as your bridesmaids and wear beautiful bridesmaid dresses. This is no small title and it’s a chance for you to really show your crew how much they mean to you. This can be done right from the off set when you ask them the big question… “Will you be my bridesmaid”. There are so many creative and exciting ways to ask your bridesmaids, it may even be nearly as fun as your own proposal.

Here are five fun ways to ask your bridesmaids so that they feel just as special as you on your big day:

Popping the question- “now its my turn to POP the question, will you be my bridesmaid?” written and placed inside a blown balloon, add confetti, sparkles and fun and present the balloon with a needle to your future bridesmaid, asking her to pop the balloon, receive the note and do the honours. For a plot twist add samples of dress colours in the balloon so when they pop it, they get the colour scheme as well.

With a note- “I can’t say I do without you”- this sweet little phrase sums up how meaningful it would be to have that person by your side on the most important day of your life. giving this note together with a charming bracelet or necklace is an elegant touch and acts as a sentimental keepsake of this special time for both you and her.

“I need… something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, but most importantly…I need you! Will you be my bridesmaid?”- another touching phrase that speaks straight to the heart. Its pretty, light and girly and says all that it needs to. Attach this to some bath salts or even sparkly champaign to really set the tone.

Tea, brunch or lunch- have your bridesmaids over, serve all your favourite foods (and maybe even some not so soft drinks) and not only use this as an opportunity to ask them to be bridesmaids either verbally or through leaving notes at their place setting (with little gifts if you really want to go all out), but also see it as an opportunity to spend quality time with them and for them to get to know each other. Especially if you have friends and family from different walks of life. This could help create a more fun and relaxed environment on the big day.

A personalised gift – a personalised gift is the perfect way to show someone that they mean the world to you. Have your bridesmaids’ name’s written on gifts that are not only gorgeous but can be useful on the day of the wedding. For example, on satin dressing gowns or slippers that can be worn while getting ready. This will also make for incredible photo ops.

A wedding rescue kit- another way to ask your bridesmaids to be by your side that is both useful, fun and quirky is by giving them a “wedding rescue kit”- a pretty toiletry bag filled with all emergency items that would be needed on the day such as deodorant, red bull, rehydrate, a hair comb, a small sewing kit, headache pills and peppermints. You can never be too prepared.

With these fabulous ideas, you will have the luckiest bridesmaids in the world.
